From the original Land Rover/Rover Testbook, then the Land Rover T4, then JLR SDS, then JLR SDD utilising first the Ford IDS then Mongoose JLR hardware, the equipment to diagnose and program the complete range of vehicles is huge, strangely most Land Rover Authorised Dealers DONT have all of this equipment! At pscan.uk we have implemented most of the Rover specific protocols and can connect to most Rover, MG and Landrover engines (including the ones which are not OBD2 compliant), ABS and airbag systems. With garage fees running at £60 to £100 per hour and professional diagnostic tools costing thousands, you will only have to use a pscan.uk. T4 Mobile Plus is a diagnostic tool for Land Rovers from 1998-2009,fully compatible with T4 Product Platform.

ABRITES Diagnostics for Jaguar and Land Rover provides the user with the ability to perform dealer-level diagnostic functions, such as module identification, both basic and detailed, reading of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), clearing of DTCs and many others.

Key Learning

Key programming for JLR vehicles can be done by diagnostics (OBDII) or by dump of the KVM module (involves reading the EEPROM of the KVM module, modifying it and then writing it back to the module).

Key programming by OBDII

The ABRITES Diagnostics for JLR allows customers to program keys to ALL Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles from 2012 to 2021 (the only exception is MY 2021 Land Rover Defender).

For vehicles produced from 2012 to 2018 (KVM types DPLA, FK72 and HPLA), key programming is done completely by OBDII and the TA54 (433 MHz) or TA56 (315 MHz) keys are required to complete the programming process. Both all keys lost situations and spare key programming are possible.

For vehicles produced after 2018 (KVM types JPLA and K8D2) the key programming procedure is also done completely by OBDII with the only difference that TA57 (433 MHz) keys are required to complete the procedure. Both all keys lost situations and spare key programming are possible.

Key programming by dump

For vehicles with KVM types FK72, we also offer a dump tool that will make the necessary modificiations to the EEPROM of the KVM module to unlock it to allow key programming. Using this method you can also use OEM JLR keys. The complete list of these vehicles can be found below:

Please note that Jaguar Land Rover are making changes to how we deliver Vehicle Data Files (VDF) to Jaguar Land Rover Approved Diagnostic Equipment. VDF do not need to be manually downloaded from the Diagnostic Delivery Server. VDF will now be automatically requested and downloaded as they are required.

The Panasonic Configuration Script is for Approved Panasonic units only using the following operating system:

• Windows 7 32-Bit operating system
• Windows 10 Pro operating system

Installation of the Panasonic Configuration Script should only be completed when the Panasonic unit has been rebuilt or does not have the SDD logo as the Desktop background image.

SDD 158 Windows 7 install:

1.Download ‘JLR Psonic Script-Setup WIN 7 – V18 .zip’ from

http://diagnosticdelivery.jlrext.com/idscentral to the SDD machine Desktop.

2.Double click ‘JLR Psonic Script-Setup WIN 7 – V18 .zip’

3.From the tool bar Select ‘Extract all files’

4.A pop up will be displayed ‘Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders, Select a Destination to extract the files to and Select ‘Extract’

5.Locate and double click Folder ‘V2.9.1.0’

6.Double click ‘PanasonicScript-Setup’ (DO NOT select ‘PanasonicScriptSetup.exe.manifest’)

7.Several ‘MS Dos’ pop ups will be seen during this application

8.A pop up will be displayed – ‘Unit Reboot – Configuration is complete a reboot is required to finalise settings’ – Click ‘OK’ to reboot the unit

9.Following the ‘Reboot’ there could be more ‘MS Dos’ pop ups, once these have completed,the script has been run successfully.

SDD 158 Windows 10 install:

1.Download ‘JLR Psonic Script-Setup WIN10 – V2.ZIP’ from

T4 Software install :

(Land Rover 1995 > 2006 only)

1.Insert RDS 7 Disk.

2.Open RDS 7

3.Double click ’RunProgs.bat’.

4.Accept the installation of ‘Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 package’.

5.Select ‘I agree’ to the ‘Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 license agreement’.

6.Select ‘Install’.

7.‘T4 Installer version’ will open.

8.Select ‘Set CD Drive letter Z’.

9.Select ‘Disk Management’.

10.Right Click and select ‘Change Drive Letter and Paths…’.

11.Select ‘Change’.

12.Select from the drop down box ‘Z’.

13.Go to ‘T4 Installer version’ and select ‘OK’.

14.RDS 7 will now install.

15.The Machine will restart automatically.

16.Eject the RDS 7 Disk.

17.Install the ‘Panasonic Script’.

The use of third party Firewalls and Anti-Virus software will cause the installation and functionality of SDD to be affected and may result in SDD not installing correctly. 1.Download the Full Installation file eg. ‘SDD_158.00_FULL.exe’.

2.Download all available Software Updates and install the update in numerical order.

3.Restart the SDD Machine.

How to update from SDD 157.06 to SDD 158.00?

1.Download and install the current Update Installation file eg. ‘SDD 158_157 UPDATE.exe’.
